Spa Etiquette

We believe a trip to the spa should always be a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. In order to help us serve you better, please take a moment to read the following:

Booking of spa appointment
Advanced reservation is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. If you will be attending the spa with a gift voucher, kindly make mention when making your appointment so that the spa can advise you of any policy which may affect its use.

Punctuality
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your treatment time. As a courtesy to all our guests, a prompt appointment time is adhered to; late appointments may not be honored or may finish early so as to minimize the inconvenience to other guests.

Medical condition
If you have any type of medical condition, do let us know when making your appointment. Certain treatments may not be suitable for you. Before commencing your treatment, it is also advisable to let your therapist know of any medical concerns.

Cancellation
Kindly give us as much advance notice as possible should you need to cancel your appointment. A minimum 24-hour cancellation notice is required to help us reschedule your appointment, as well as award your slot to other interested guests. Under our cancellation policy, partial or full payment may be imposed at our discretion if advance notice was not adequately given.

Eating and drinking
Try to avoid food consumption for at least an hour before a treatment. Consumption of alcohol on the day of a treatment is not recommended. Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment, especially if heat therapies, such as a sauna or the steam room, are part of your spa experience.

Spa tour
Upon your arrival, ask for a spa tour prior to your treatment. The tour will acquaint you with your surroundings and introduce you to any additional spa facilities, such as steam rooms and relaxation rooms.

Attire

Most people go to a spa in very casual attire - something they can easily slip off and put away in lockers. If modesty is an issue, call the spa in advance to find out its policies and suggestions. Some treatments may be done while you are fully clothed. Facilities such as the sauna and the whirlpool may be enjoyed in a bathing suit. Towels, bathrobes and slippers will be provided.

Jewellery
If possible, leave your jewelry at home as you will not need it for your spa visit. If you have valuables on you, please make certain that they are securely locked in your locker. If you choose to take them with you to your treatment, be mindful of not leaving them behind.

Communicating your preferences

All aspects of treatment can usually be modified to your taste: amount of light, room temperature, and whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. If you want the therapist to massage stronger or be gentler, do let him or her know. Feel free to ask questions too. Your therapist will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may have. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, do tell the therapist first. If the response is not helpful, ask to speak to a spa consultant. As it is our policy not to engage in selling activities or any form of selling during treatment, we would appreciate if you will discuss matters of this nature with our consultants after your treatment.

Nudity issues
It is never required that you are unclothed in front of anyone in the spa. You can either change in the ladies’ room or within your treatment room. Towels and robes are provided and can keep you continually covered. Our therapists are well-trained in the "art of draping" which means you are covered at all times except for the area of the body they are massaging.

Shaving

If you must shave, do so at least two hours before your scheduled appointment, particularly if you are a man receiving a facial or a woman receiving any kind of scheduled bodywork.

Spa and sun
Try to avoid the sun on the day of treatment and, in some cases, the day after.

Using shared facilities
Before entering a pool, please take a quick shower. When enjoying the sauna or steam, always sit on your towel provided by the spa. Women should not shave their legs in the steam room.

Cell phones
Because the spa environment is supposed to be a tranquil and stress-reducing experience, it is best to turn your cell phone off before entering the spa.

Socializing
When in the spa, please be mindful of others. Keep conversations at a low volume.

Children
Children are not allowed in the spa so as to maintain a relaxing spa ambience for all guests.
